Eugene & Beverly
The Legacy
Eugene and Beverly (Pervall) Stradwick were born in 1931 in Wheeling, WV. They were high school sweethearts and graduates of Lincoln High School, the segregated school in Wheeling. Eugene joined the Navy after high school to serve his country during the Korean War. They were married in 1951.
Beverly raised six children and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 89. Eugene was active locally and statewide for the American Legion as a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 89 and a past District 1 Commander, a role he held for four years. Eugene retired from the Ohio Valley Medical Center after 41 years as a pharmacy tech. He was a lifelong volunteer for Wheeling Park HS track and field and was recognized by the state for the state track and field championships.
They spent their entire lives in Wheeling and were strong proponents of education and community service. Eugene and Beverly were known around the community for their generosity, kindness, and love of dancing.
Their legacy continues to promote involvement and opportunity in Wheeling.
